Chelated Iron For Lawns – Turn The Lawn Blue!

One of the “great secrets” to having that deep blue-green grass your neighbors will envy comes from a very simple micro-nutrient known as iron. It’s one of those things that many of your have heard about, but have no idea which kind to use or when to apply it. So let me help you out!

First off, you have to get chelated iron. That means that the iron has been bound to other elements that are water soluble. Iron in its natural state gets tied up in soil and can’t be utilized by grass plants. When you get chelated iron, you’ll get results.

Next, you should be sure to get an iron product that won’t stain. You see, iron will make huge brown streaks in your driveway and orange stains on your wood siding. It will get on your shoes and stain your clothing. Iron is nasty stuff! But they do have chelated iron available that won’t stain and still brings great results. It’s called Milorganite.
